OPENING OF GHANA IMMIGRATION SERVICE OFFICE AT CCTU

The Ghana Immigration Service has opened a Satellite Office at Cape Coast Technical University, to serve staff, students and the neighbouring communities. The Service has been established as the Agency under the Ministry of Interior, to counsel on and to ensure the effective implementation of all laws and regulations on immigration and other related issues.

The Regional Commander, DCO1 Mohammed Hudu, speaking at an inspection of the facility allocated to the Service on Wednesday, August 14, 2024, expressed delight at the gesture of the Management of the University to Ghana Immigration Service. He called for more of such collaborations to cement the already existing relationship.

Before the facility inspection, DCO1 Mohammed Hudu and some of his Officers visited the Vice-Chancellor at the Council Chamber, where the purpose of their visit was made known. Also, officers to manage the Satellite Office were introduced to the University Management.

The Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Kwaku Adutwum Ayim Boakye, welcomed DCO1 Mohammed Hudu and his entourage and thanked them for accepting to establish a satellite office at Cape Coast Technical University. He noted that the decision for the University Management to have Ghana Immigration Service on campus was timely because the enrolment of foreign students was increasing. He emphasised that the Office would not serve only the University Community but also the neighbouring communities.

Prof. K. A. A. Boakye stressed that some processes would be rolled out leading to the signing of an MOU and the grand opening ceremony of the office at a later date to be agreed upon by both parties.

Also present at the meeting were; Mr. Alexander Azameti (Director of Public Affairs), Mr. Felix Opare Baako (PR Section) and Mrs. Fanny Ama Darkey (Director of Legal, Consular and General Services).
