Worldskills Africa Champion Presents Medals To Management Of Cape Coast Technical University

Mr. Louis Morgan, a Mechanical Engineering student of the Cape Coast Technical University has presented medals won at the WorldSkills Africa and the National Competition to the Management of the University.

Mr. Morgan represented Ghana and won Gold in Mechanical Engineering CAD during the WorldSkills Africa Competition in Namibia. The continental Worldskills Competition had other competitors from Kenya, Namibia, South Africa, Uganda, Rwanda, Madagascar, Zambia, DRC, Ethiopia, and one Refugee representing WorldSkills International.

Ghana was represented in the following categories, Welding, Web Technology, Mechatronics, Automobile Technology, Mechanical Engineering CAD, Fashion Technology, Hairdressing, Electrical Installation and Brick laying.

The Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Joshua Danso Owusu-Sekyere congratulated him for the success in both the national and Africa competitions and for lifting the name of CCTU and Ghana high in Namibia. He indicated that the University is proud of his achievement and hopes that he will bring success from the world event.

Prof. Owusu-Sekyere added that Louis Morgan's success is an evidence of the quality of training at the University.

Mr. Louis Morgan will join other category winners to represent Africa at the global WorldSkills Competition in China later this year.

Present at the short ceremony were Prof. Samuel Kwame Ansah (Pro Vice-Chancellor), Dr. Francis Narh Akrono (Registrar), Prof. Charles E. Oppon (Director, Renewable Energy).

Also present were Mr. Benjamin Edu-Mensah (Director, Public Affairs), Dr. Anane-Fenin (Director, Engineering Design and, Innovation Centre) and Mr. Richard Akwada (Head, Mechanical Engineering Department).
