Cape Coast Technical University to represent Ghana at Tech Innovation Pitching Competition in Berlin
Three students from the Department of Food Science and Postharvest Technology, Miss Emelia Addy, Miss Isabella Naa Allotey and Mr. Samuel Addo have won the 2023 Business Ideas/Technology Innovation Pitch Competition. The team won the competition by using plantain pseudostem and bamboo to manufacture sanitary towels. Mr. Kwame Tenadu and Mrs. Sandra Kaburi, Dr. Maurice Tibiru Apaliya and Dr. Richard Osae led the team.
The Pitch, which was held for Universities in Ghana was organized by RWTH Aachen University and Paabinaa Meriga Peace Initiative. The final stage of the competition was made up of 14 Universities including University of Ghana, University of Cape Coast, University of Development Studies, University of Professional Studies among others. At the end of the contest, Cape Coast Technical University beat thirteen other tertiary institutions to win the ultimate prize.
The Team from CCTU will represent Ghana and Africa in Germany in October, 2023.
