TEAM NICE TO REPRESENT CCTU ON BIG CHEF TERTIARY 2ND EDITION

Team Nice, of Cape Coast Technical University after battling it out in the kitchen with two other teams, emerged winners to represent the University in the Season 2 of the Big Chef Tertiary Competition.

Big Chef Tertiary 2nd Edition is Joy Prime’s culinary Competition between Technical Universities nationwide. The last episode saw Cape Coast Technical University evicted in the 9th episode of the competition. Meanwhile, Team Nice has promised to make the University proud in the 2nd Edition.

Six students were put in pairs, making three groups, namely; Team Nice, Bertimite and Nedalyne to compete against each other in the kitchen for a spot to represent the University. The judges announced the rules of the competition and the contestants were prompted to get to work immediately.

After the 30 minutes allotted to the contestants, each team was given the chance to present their dishes to the judges for their final verdict. The judges, after tasting the meals offered. Team Nice, Team Bertimite and Team Nedalyne, decided to crown Team Nice, as the winners of the competition.

According to the judges, they deserved to win because they were able to execute the task perfectly and hence will be able to represent and bring the trophy to the University.

Team Nice so full of excitement, thanked the organizers of the competition (Joy Prime) and lectures at the Cape Coast Technical University’s Department of Hospitality Management for allowing them to take part in the competition.

The audition event, which took place at the University’s Ceremonial Grounds (Borsah Square), was full of fun as the audience who were mainly students and lecturers, were entertained by the host Michelle Agyekum, as the contestants battled it out in the kitchen.

Earlier in the day, the organizers of Joy Prime’s Big Chef Tertiary 2nd Edition visited the Vice-Chancellor and some school management members at the Council Chamber. They were led by the Director of Academic Planning and Quality Assurance, Prof. Emmanuel Kwaw together with some members of the Hospitality Management Department.

The Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Kwaku Adutwum Ayim Boakye, welcomed the team and lauded the initiative by Joy Prime, reiterating the socio-economic impact such programmes bring to Universities and individual contestants in particular. He, however, called on the Department to increase publicity on various platforms to advertise the Department and the University.

Hagan-Director of Works & Physical Development, Mr. Stephen A. Atianeere-Director of Audit and Mr. Paul Akyin Mensah - Head, Vice-Chancellors’ Secretariat.
