INAUGURATION OF CCTU GREEN CLUB
The University under the auspices of the Physical Space Beautification Team on Friday, July 05, 2024, inaugurated the CCTU Green Club. The vision of the Green Club was to create a sustainable and environmentally conscious community within the University, where students actively contributed to a greener campus and a healthier planet.
Alhaji Prof. Zakari Mustapha, Dean of the School of Building and Natural Environment, chaired the inauguration. In his opening statement, he appealed to members of the Team to collaborate and work assiduously to ensure that the Club achieves its intended purpose.
In a brief presentation, Nana Esi Bedua-Taylor, a member of the Team, spoke on issues such as water conservation, green spaces and biodiversity, energy conservation, waste reduction and recycling. Other areas addressed included environmental education and awareness, sustainable events and practices.
Prof. Charles Emmanuel Oppon, Dean of Student Affairs, duly inaugurated the club. With the support of two officers from the Forestry Commission, they planted some trees in front of the Marketing Block to mark the inauguration.
