NEWLY APPOINTED CENTRAL REGIONAL MINISTER ENGAGES CCTU MANAGEMENT

The newly appointed Central Regional Minister, Honorable Eduamoah Ekow Panyin Okyere, engaged the Management of the Cape Coast Technical University (CCTU) to familiarize with the University's academic programmes and explore possible collaboration opportunities that could contribute to the development in the Region.

The meeting took place at the University’s Council Chamber on Wednesday, March 12, 2025, with an opening address from the Registrar, Dr. Anthony H. Turkson, who welcomed the Minister and his entourage and set the tone for the discussion.

In his address, Prof. Kwaku Adutwum Ayim Boakye, the Vice Chancellor, expressed excitement about the Minister's visit and highlighted some of the strides made by the University in skill development, particularly in the engineering field.

Honorable Eduamoah Ekow Panyin Okyere commended CCTU for supporting the government in training manpower for national and global development. He pledged to collaborate with the University to advance youth apprenticeship programmes for socio-economic development in the Region.

He said, “Apprenticeship is the best way of learning. I am committed to fostering partnerships that promote economic growth, skill development, and youth empowerment. I believe that by working together with institutions like Cape Coast Technical University, we can create a brighter future for the people of our great Region”.

The meeting concluded with optimism from both parties, anticipating a successful partnership. Present at the meeting were some members of the University Management, key officials from the Regional Coordinating Council, and the media.
