SEMINAR ON INDUSTRIAL HARMONY
The Management of Cape Coast Technical University in its quest to pursue and maintain industrial harmony within the University Community, constituted an Industrial Harmony Team to ensure harmony within the University. The Industrial Team, in collaboration with the 40th Anniversary Planning Committee organised a day’s seminar on Thursday, July 11, 2024, at the Library Conference Room.
The Seminar was on the theme: “Facing the Next 40 Years with Hope; The Role of Industrial Harmony” which was delivered by Prof. Emeritus Stephen Adei.
The Chairman for the occasion, Prof. Kwaku A. A. Boakye, Vice-Chancellor of Cape Coast Technical University welcomed all participants and indicated that the seminar was necessary because the success of the University in the next 40 years depended on industrial harmony.
In his presentation, Prof. Emeritus Adei maintained that there should be equity and transparency in dealing with all stakeholders. He added that the decisions and judgments of the Governing Council of the University should be unbiased. He emphasized the need for a total overhauling of the Education Policy in the country where emphasis should be placed on technical education rather than classical education.
He further added that there, was a need for a radical restructuring of educational funding by allocating a greater percentage of funds from the Government to Technical Education, especially Cape Coast Technical University. He challenged the Management and staff of the University to focus on its niche area to the point where the University would be known across the globe.
