EAGLE FM, CCTU ORGANIZES 2ND EDITION OF JOLLOFEST

Eagle FM, 87.7, an FM station of the Cape Coast Technical University, has successfully organized the Jollof Festival for the second time.

The event which sought to promote culinary tourism during the Oguaa Fetu Festival of the people of Cape Coast, achieved its objective of drawing people from far and near to learn and enjoy other tasty Jollof rice dishes. 

The event, which started at 2 pm, saw seven (7) communities competing for the ultimate prize, with Team Nice representing the Amissano Community (Cape Coast North Constituency) emerging as the winners.  Team Spark from the Bessakrom community took the second spot, while the third position went to another team.

The winner took home a cash prize of GHc1,000 while the first runner-up received GHc700 and the second runner-up received GHc500.

A panel of expert judges, from the Department of Hospitality Management and Food Science and Post-Harvest Technology Department carefully evaluated the dishes based on taste, texture, creativity and presentation.

In his remarks, the General Manager of Eagle FM, Dr. Richmond Yaw Yeboah, touted some of the station's achievements and noted that Eagle FM will continue to promote community cohesion and culinary excellence through this initiative.

He expressed his gratitude to the sponsors of the second edition of JolloFest 2024.  The sponsors included, Hon Ekow Ewusi (NPP Cape Coast North, Parliamentary Candidate), Firmer Eye Clinic, PK Star Company LTD, Obokese Organics, Coastal Spark Enterprise, Cape Coast Food Depot, Baiden Ghartey Hospital, CapitalMed Wholesale Pharmacy and Jarule Meat.

The event, which took place behind the Asenadze Taxi Station Abura, was a celebration of community spirit, food and culture, with patrons enjoying a variety of Jollof dishes, music and entertainment.
