Vice-Chancellor and Other University Officials paid a Courtesy Call on the Central Regional Minister

The Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Kwaku Adutwum Ayim Boakye and his team of officials called on the Central Regional Minister, Hon. Justina Marigold Assan, on Wednesday, August 16, 2023. The Regional Minister was happy to receive the delegation from the Cape Coast Technical University. After the usual pleasantries, the Registrar, Dr. Francis Narh Akrono informed the Minister the mission of their visit and accordingly introduced the new Vice-Chancellor to the Minister. The Minister, on her part, touched on a number of issues and indicated that TVET is the engine of growth for the Country and therefore much attention should be devoted to it. Being a product of TVET the Regional Minister was ready to collaborate with the University to move the region further in the area of Vocational and Technical Education. She indicated that R.C.C. would lend its support for a programme that would bring together the youth of Central Region to acquire skills to better their lot.

The Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Kwaku Adutwum Ayim Boakye, on his part, expressed his appreciation for the warm reception and indicated that CCTU would collaborate with RCC to drive the region forward. He said the University is thinking of having a pre-engineering summer camp for the youth in Cape Coast and its environs to equip them with knowledge and skills to become employable and entrepreneurs as well as being abreast with current trend of events.  He took the opportunity to invite the Central Regional Minister, Hon. Justina Marigold Assan to the 40th Anniversary of the Cape Coast Technical University, to be celebrated next year, 2024. Prof. further extended invitation to the Minister to visit the uncompleted University Auditorium for possible assistance, the Minister agreed to come. The interaction was insightful and fruitful.
