GHANA SKILLS DEVELOPMENT FUND (GSDF) IN COLLABORATION WITH THE CAPE COAST TECHNICAL UNIVERSITY (CCTU) ORGANISES  PROJECT ORIENTATION SEMINAR

The Ghana Skills Development Fund (GSDF) in collaboration with Cape Coast Technical University (CCTU) on Monday, July 3, 2023, had a Project Orientation Seminar on Skills Training for Continuing Professional Development (CPD) of Building and Construction Craftsmen/Artisans in the Central Region at the Ridge Royal Hotel Cape Coast.

The Ghana Skills Development Fund (GSDF) is a Commission for Technical and Vocational Educational Training (CTVET) administered grant as part of the Government’s Technical and Vocational Educational Training (TVET) policy with the aim to improve the production and competitiveness of skilled workforce and raise the income earning capacities of people. The overall goal of the GSDF project is to provide opportunities for life-long learning and skills upgrading for increased productivity and employability of Craftsmen/Artisans in the Building and Construction industries in the Central Region.

A grant of Two Million and Fifty Thousand, One Hundred and Four Ghana Cedis, Fifty-two Pesewas (GH¢2,050,104.52) had been awarded towards the project. The project leader is Dr. Stephen Agyefi-Mensah, the project co-leader is Dr. Jonas Ekow Yankah and the project Administrator is Engineer James Oppon. 

The participants were taken through the project training for effective implementation and evaluation. Members expressed their satisfaction and indicated that the project would bring the desired impact for which it had been designed. 

Present also at the Seminar were Alhaji Prof. Zakari Mustapha, Dean of School of Built and Natural Environment, Prof. S.K. Ansah and other members of the Department of Construction Technology Management. Others were Mr. Paul Sarfo, Head of ICT (CCTU) and other dignitaries.
