The John Kofi Borsah (JKB) Library of the Cape Coast Technical University (CCTU) was established in 2007 and named after Surveyor Dr. John Kofi Borsah, the second Principal of the University. The Library encourages patrons to explore its integrated and comprehensive collection of both print and electronic resources.

The Library has over the years accumulated a rich collection of over twenty-seven thousand (27,000) volumes. The Library also subscribes to several online databases through the Consortium of Academic and Research Libraries in Ghana (CARLIGH) to support academic activities. The Library has formulated policies and rules to guide the activities of the Library, the use of its resources and facilities.

Location and Design: The JKB Library is a multi-storey building complex of three (3) floors and a basement with a total floor area of 3261.5m2. The layout of the Library indicating offices and public service points is as follows:
The basement houses the ICT Directorate, which is run independently of the Library. The bindery is also located in the basement, offering reprographic services to patrons.

On the ground floor, the Librarian’s suite, reference library, research library, circulation control, security control, baggage room, and light-reading area can be located.

The first floor is the Business Library, which stocks materials on the Social Sciences – Accounting and Finance, Marketing, Procurement and Supply-Chain Management, Secretaryship and Management Studies. The cataloging and classification section is also located on this floor.

The second floor is the Science and Technology Library, which stocks materials on Engineering, Applied Sciences, and Applied Arts. The materials are on courses such as Catering, Fashion Design and Textiles Studies, Graphic Design and Multimedia, Statistics, Food Science and Postharvest Technology, Computer Science, Mathematics, Renewable Energy, Building Technology, Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering and Electronic Engineering. The E-resource Center and Students’ Project Work Room are located on this floor.

The third and final floor houses the Presentation Hall and the Conference Room for holding presentations and conferences by the University and the general public.

The Library is headed by the University Librarian, Dr. Augustine Aduko Alu.
