The Vice-Chancellor, Pro Vice-Chancellor, Registrar, Deans and Directors of both Academic and Administrative Units of the Cape Coast Technical University (CCTU) participated in a two-day retreat, to discuss the operational plan of the Schools, Directorates and Centres of the University for the implementation of the five (5) year Strategic Plan (2021- 2025). The retreat was held from July 24 - 25, 2023 at the Elmina Beach Resort, Elmina.

The Registrar, Dr. Francis Narh Akrono delivered the opening remarks and welcomed all participants to the retreat. The Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Kwaku Adutwum Ayim Boakye made the first presentation by teasing out the Key Strategic Objectives, which were derived from the Strategic Plan of the University. The Vice-Chancellor after his presentation indicated that the deliberation of the operational plans of the various units was to help the University chart a path to implement the Strategic Plan.

The Deans, Directors of both Academic and Administrative Units and Management made presentations of their operational plans, which were teased out from the relevant thrusts in the strategic plan. The operational plan spanned from September to November 2023.

On the second day of the retreat, the Vice-Chancellor officially inaugurated the Strategic Plan Implementation Committee. The membership were:

The Vice-Chancellor charged the Committee to bring their expertise to bear on the task assigned them to achieve the desired results. On behalf of the Committee, the Chairman, Prof. Lawrence Atepor expressed his appreciation to Management and the entire University for the confidence reposed in them. He indicated that they would do their best to deliver on their mandate.

In his closing remarks at the end of the retreat, the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Kwaku Adutwum Ayim Boakye urged the members to be guided by the key strategic objectives as they update the operational plan with suggestions made at the retreat. He was very appreciative of the contribution made by members. He indicated that CCTU would never be the same again if we all put our shoulders to the wheel and drive it with one accord. He further indicated that the reviewing of the operational plans has been scheduled for December 2023.
