CCTU FUN GAMES/HEALTH WALK/FLOAT
On Friday, July 12, 2024, and Saturday, July 13, 2024, the 40th Anniversary Planning Committee as part of its activities to celebrate the University’s 40th Anniversary, organised Fun Games and Health Walk /Float for staff and students. The Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Kwaku A.A. Boakye opened the games with a kick-off at exactly 11:00 a.m.
The games, which took place on Friday at the basketball court of the University, included football, volleyball, table tennis, musical chairs, playing “ampe” ludo, draught, scrabble, playing cards and many more. The games ended at 6:00 p.m. with the Junior Staff Association winning the football competition and TUTAG also winning the volleyball competition.
On the Saturday, the Health Walk started at the University Roundabout through Ayifua Junction, Pedu Junction, Starlets 91 Street, Kotokuraba, Coronation to the Chapel Square. Hundreds of enthusiastic staff and students in branded CCTU 40th Anniversary T-Shirts participated throughout to the end amidst brass band and music from the public address system.
Officers from the Ghana Police Service supported by the Cadet of the University conducted the health walk/float culminating in the success of the programme. The Media Team from the Directorate of Public Affairs fully covered both events.
Participating in the health walk were; the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Kwaku A.A. Boakye, the Registrar, Dr. Anthony H. Turkson, the Dean of Student Affairs, Engr. Prof. Charles E. Oppon, Director of Human Resources, Mr. M.M. Bentil, Director of Legal Consular and General Services, Mrs. Fanny Ama Darkey, Director of Public Affairs, Mr. Alexander K. Azameti, Deans and Head of Departments/Sections/Units.
