International Programmes And Institutional Linkages

Cape Coast Technical University through the Office of International Programmes and Institutional Linkages participated in the International Week Tour and Tasting organised by Vives University in Bruges, Belgium from March 25, 2024, to March 29, 2024. The University was represented by Prof. Samuel B. Owusu-Mintah, Mr. Franklin DaCosta Dzormeku and Prof. Uriah Stonewell Tetteh.

2024/2025 Community College Initiative (CCI) Programme

Four (4) students of CCTU are on an exchange programme in the United States of America for the 2024-2025 academic year under the auspices of the Community College Initiative (CCI) programme, a one-year non-degree academic programme.

Erasmus+ Programme 2024.

Two (2) students from the Departments of Renewable Energy Technology and Mechanical Engineering were accepted to study at Hochschule Dusseldorf – University of Applied Sciences, Germany for the 2023/2024 academic year from March 1, 2024, to August 31, 2024, as exchange students in the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering and Process Engineering. This was under the “Erasmus+ Programme -Mobility with Partner Countries” (KA107) programme, funded by the European Commission.

Intention to Collaborate with London South Bank University
Following a visit by a team from the School of Built Environment and Architecture (BEA), London South Bank University (LSBU) to Cape Coast Technical University on Tuesday, May 7, 2024, the Directorate wrote to the team, expressing CCTU’s keen interest in establishing a collaboration with LSBU. The Directorate presently looks forward to discussing how to formally establish this relationship and create detailed strategies for future cooperation.

Dinner in Honour of Dignitaries from the University of Johannesburg and the Vice-Chancellor of Usmanu Danfodiyo University of Sokoto.

The Cape Coast Technical University had the distinct pleasure of holding a dinner for a delegation from the University of Johannesburg (UJ), led by the Vice-Chancellor and Principal, Professor Letlhokwa Mpedi and also the Vice-Chancellor of Usmanu Danfodiyo University of Sokoto (UDUS), Professor Bashiru Garba on Wednesday, August 28, 2024. The event took place at the Coconut Groove Beach Resort, providing a serene and elegant backdrop for an evening of discussions of potential areas of collaboration.
The dinner was organised as part of the efforts to discuss and deepen the collaborative relationship between CCTU, UJ, and UDUS. With a shared commitment to academic excellence and innovation, this gathering served as a testament to the growing partnership between the three (3) Universities.

The Signing of Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs)

  1. The University signed an MoU with the Africa International Chamber of Commerce and Industry (AICCI) on Wednesday, September 18, 2024, with the primary aim to establish a framework for collaboration between AICCI and CCTU, to support educational endeavours, especially focusing on partnerships with key academic institutions in the European Union. Its special emphasis is on Estonia, facilitated through ACCI’s Estonia Chapter and its Baltic and Nordic Countries Secretariat.
  2. The University signed its portion of the MoU with Hochschule Dusseldorf – University of Applied Sciences, Germany on Wednesday, September 18, 2024. The MoU, among others, is for exchanging students and faculty, co-organising, participating in lectures, seminars, and conferences, and providing mentorship in developing renewable energy and engineering education.
  3. Plans are being advanced for the signing of MoUs with: 
  • The University of University of Johannesburg (UJ)
  • The Community College of Philadelphia (USA), Unincarcerated Minds Incorporated (USA), World Trade Center of Greater Philadelphia (USA) and Obokese Foundation (Ghana).

Education USA Fair
The Dean of International Programmes and Institutional Linkages represented the University at the College Fair organised by the U.S. Embassy in Ghana at the Movenpick Hotel from September 13-14, 2024. Frantic efforts and discussions are ongoing to collaborate with some of the universities in the USA that participated in the fair.

Visiting Donor Agencies and Missions in Ghana
The Dean of International Programmes and Institutional Linkages visited some donor agencies and missions in Accra, Ghana to secure appointment dates for upcoming meetings with those organisations on September 19 - 20, 2024. This was to share CCTU’s internationalisation initiatives and prospects for potential collaboration and mutually beneficial partnerships. The organisations visited include the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JiCA), the British Council, DAAD, GIZ, USAID, the German Embassy, the Royal Dutch Embassy, the US Embassy, and the French Embassy.
