SCHOOL OF GRADUATE STUDIES AND RESEARCH

INTRODUCTION

The School of Graduate Studies and Research plays a pivotal role in fostering academic excellence and driving innovation within the university system. As a cornerstone of advanced education, graduate schools worldwide are dedicated to nurturing expertise and fostering specialized knowledge in various fields, ultimately shaping the leaders and innovators of tomorrow.

VISION STATEMENT

The vision of the School of Graduate Studies and Research is to become the first choice for graduate education and applied research in renewable energy.

MISSION STATEMENT

The mission of the School of Graduate Studies and Research is to promote quality graduate education that prepares graduates who advance applied knowledge for the job market.

ADMINISTRATION OF THE SCHOOL OF GRADUATE STUDIES AND RESEARCH

The School is headed by the Dean, who is responsible for both the administration and academic development of the School. The Dean's Office is supported by a dedicated team, comprising three (3) key staff members as follows:

SCHOOLS/DEPARTMENTS OFFERING MASTER OF TECHNOLOGY (MTECH) PROGRAMMES

The Master of Technology (MTech) programmes are currently offered by two schools, each with one department running the programme:

1. School of Engineering

  • Department: Civil Engineering

2. School of Built and Natural Environment

  • Department: Construction Technology and Management

ACADEMIC PROGRAMMES

The MTech programmes currently available are:

1. MTech Civil Engineering with options in:

  • Civil Infrastructure and Construction Engineering
  • Environmental Engineering
  • Water Engineering and Management

2. MTech Construction Technology and Management

FUTURE PROGRAMMES

The School of Graduate Studies and Research is planning to introduce new master's programmes in the near future, which include:

1. MTech in Accounting and Finance

2. MPhil in Food Science and Technology

3. MTech in Hospitality Sustainable Event Management

These forthcoming programmes aim to broaden the academic offerings and provide students with more specialized and diverse opportunities for advanced study.
