School of Applied Sciences & Technology
INTRODUCTION
The School of Applied Sciences and Technology (SAST) emerged out of the School of Applied Sciences and Arts (SASA) in September 2020. This was done when a new Department, Department of Food Science and Postharvest Technology was created and in conformity with the institution’s vision of expanding Cape Coast Technical University. Departments that were offering Applied Sciences and Technology related programmes were segregated from those involved in Applied Arts.
MISSION STATEMENT
The mission is to provide quality applied sciences, vocational and technological education that inspire learners to be creative and driven towards technology-based intervention for communities and industries within the country and globally.
VISION STATEMENT
The vision is to position Cape Coast Technical University as the leading educational pivot for applied sciences and technological innovation in the Country.
ADMINISTRATION
The School is headed by a Dean. He/she is responsible for the administrative and academic development of the School. The Office of the Dean has staff strength of three (3). They are as follows:

ACHIEVEMENTS
The School had a collaboration with Carnegie African Diaspora Fellowship, Canada to developed a curriculum in Bachelor of Technology in Culinary Arts and Restaurant Management.
The School wrote a proposal on the creation of the Hotel School that has been approved by Academic Board and the Governing Council of Cape Coast Technical University.
The Department of Food Science and Postharvest Technology received donation of laboratory equipment worth three thousand, nine hundred and fifty dollars ($3,950.00) from Prof. Benjamin Simpson, McGill University in Montreal.
PROJECTIONS
The School has developed the underlisted academic programmes and awaiting accreditation from Ghana Tertiary Education Commission (GTEC). The School intends to provide a wide range of market-driven programme opportunities for students to choose from.
