School of Applied Arts
INTRODUCTION OF THE SCHOOL
In June 2020, a proposal for the splitting of the erstwhile School of Applied Sciences and Arts in conformity with the Vice-Chancellor and the institution’s vision of expanding Cape Coast Technical University was submitted for the consideration of Academic Board. Following the Academic Board’s approval on September 4, 2020, the School of Applied Sciences and Arts was split into the School of Applied Sciences and Technology (SAST) and the School of Applied Arts (SAA).
MISSION STATEMENT
The mission is to deliver high quality education in Applied Arts through practical teaching and research excellence and innovative programs to provide the skills needed to become market leaders.
VISION STATEMENT
The vision is to position Cape Coast Technical University as the leading educational hub for Applied Arts with emphasis on technology transfer and innovation in Ghana.
ADMINISTRATION
The Dean heads the School. He/she is responsible for the administration and academic development of the School. The Office has a total staff strength of three (3) and they consist of the following staff:

ACHIEVEMENTS
The Department of Tourism Management won a grant of equipment worth GH¢220,400.00 through the Ghana Tourism Development Project (GTDP) of the Ministry of Tourism, Arts and Culture (MoTAC) under the auspices of the World Bank for the establishment of a Travel and Tourism Resource Centre.
EXPECTATIONS AND PROJECTIONS
The School has received administrative approval for four new programmes, namely Bachelor of Arts in Information Science, Diploma in Librarianship, Bachelor of Technology in Industrial Art and Design (Graphics Design and Multimedia Studies Option) and Diploma in Graphic Design and Multimedia Studies. Accreditation for the programmes is therefore in the offing.
