The Directorate of Academic Affairs has the core function or responsibility of ensuring that transcripts, attestations, introductory letters and other related documents requested by both current and past students of the University are issued.
Additionally, it is responsible for issuing certificates for Bachelor of Technology and most non-tertiary programmes. The Directorate is answerable to the Registrar for all academic related matters about:

• Academic Board 
• the implementation of admissions and registration policies
• time-table 
• University examinations
• matriculation and orientation of freshmen and women
• congregation
• academic planning
