Ms. Lily Doe

Head, Industrial Liaison Section

Industrial Liaison Section

The primary objective of the Industrial Liaison Office (ILO) is to establish a connection between the industry and the academic community. This is achieved through the facilitation of research-based collaborations, educational partnerships, and the promotion of technology transfer and innovation. The mandate of the ILO includes the implementation of practical training programs for both students and staff of the University. These programs are designed to equip individuals with practical skills that are pertinent to their respective fields of study. To accomplish this, the Office actively identifies stakeholders, conducts searches, and facilitates the placement of students and staff in industrial attachment training programs.

Moreover, the ILO organises industrial trips for both students and staff. Furthermore, the Office diligently pursues partnerships and collaborations with commercial entities,
aiming to foster enduring relationships that mutually enhance the capabilities of the University’s students and staff. Given the University’s mission to train professionals for the world of work, practical training in Technical/Vocational Education becomes imperative. In light of this, the Industrial Liaison Office plays the
following roles in accomplishing the objectives of the University:

  • Coordinating Industrial visits/educational trips for students
  • Securing placement opportunities for students to undergo practical training to complement theory with practice, known as the Industrial Attachment/ Internship Training Programme
  • Facilitating supervision and monitoring students on Industrial Attachment/Internship Staffing
