Welcome to the Department of Mechanical Engineering! The Department is honored to introduce you to our community of talented students and lecturers shaping the future of Mechanical Engineering. The Mechanical Engineering Department is among eighteen (18) other departments in the Cape Coast Technical University (CCTU), formerly Cape Coast Polytechnic, which was established in September 1994. Our department is committed to excellence in education, research, and practical work. We offer undergraduate programmes (Diploma in Mechanical Engineering, Higher National Diploma in Mechanical Engineering, 4-year Bachelor of Technology in Mechanical Engineering, and 4-year Bachelor of Technology in Agricultural Engineering) that equip students with the skills and knowledge to tackle complex Mechanical and Agricultural Engineering challenges. The lecturers are experts in their fields, working on cutting-edge projects that transform industries and improve lives. Our labs are equipped with the latest technology, providing hands-on experience and fostering innovation. The Department collaborates with other departments and industries to tackle real-world problems and create impactful solutions. Our students engage in various clubs (CAD club) and competitions that enhance their learning experience. Thank you.

Introduction

The Mechanical Engineering department amongst others in the Cape Coast Technical University was established in September 1994. They are in charge of developing innovative devices to bring advanced materials into the world and designing, introducing, preserving and improving plants for stable and efficient production.

Apart from Agric. Engineering that is placed under Mechanical Engineering, the department has offers three (3) optional areas viz as viz Automobile (Auto) Engineering, Production Engineering, and Plant Engineering. These options in the mechanical engineering department, amongst other things, are in charge of developing innovative devices to bring advanced materials into the world and designing, introducing, preserving and improving plants for stable and efficient production.
