The Department of Management and Administration is one of the four departments under the School of Business and Management Studies. It was established
in 1986 to offer Diploma in Business Studies (Secretarial option). The National Council for Technical and Vocational Education and Training programmes consisting of Stenography up to Private Secretary were also run by the Department. During the 1994/1995 academic year, the Department enrolled the first batch of students to read Higher National Diploma (Secretaryship and Management Studies). The programme provides students with the requisite principles and theories relating to secretarial practice and management to enable them to function efficiently and effectively as middle-level managers.
The Department has gone through several transformations and now runs Bachelor of Technology (B.Tech.) in Secretaryship and Management Studies and Higher National Diploma in Secretaryship and Management Studies (full-time, evening and weekend sessions). It has an ultra-modern computer laboratory that offers a simulation
of the work environment for the practical training of students.
