Introduction
The Department of Fashion Design and Textile Studies, CCTU was established in 1999 to provide further and tertiary training and education for fashion, home economics, and arts graduates from the secondary and technical institutes in the Central Region and beyond. The Department started by offering non-tertiary programmes in fashion design and textile studies. We started offering our flagship programme, the Higher National Diploma in Fashion Design and Textile Studies, in 2007. In 2018, when the university was made a technical university, we had to design, seek administrative approval, and accreditation for our B.Tech. in Fashion Design and Textile Studies (Four-Years and Top-Up) to offer opportunities for graduates from the secondary and technical institutes, and our HND programme to improve themselves
Vision of the Department
The Department aims at equipping our students and graduates with advanced technical and functional competencies in Fashion and Textile Design, and Graphic Design and Multimedia Studies towards the promotion of the Fashion and Textile industry, and the Graphic Design and Multimedia Industry both locally and internationally.
