CCTU AND AFRICA INTERNATIONAL CHAMBER OF COMMERCE AND INDUSTRY (AICCI) FORGE PARTNERSHIP FOR INSTITUTIONAL ADVANCEMENT
Cape Coast Technical University (CCTU) and the Africa International Chamber of Commerce and Industry (AICCI) have formalized a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to enhance institutional advancement.
Signed by representatives from both institutions at the University’s Council Chamber on Wednesday, September 18, 2024, the agreement outlines plans for joint educational research programmes catering to the needs of industries for Ghana and African markets. Additionally, it includes initiatives like exchange programmes to enhance the teaching and learning capacity, fostering a high standard of education within collaborative efforts.
The partnership stresses academic, technical, vocational, and cultural exchange, facilitating participation in relevant conferences, seminars and work experiences to enrich the educational experience. The collaboration between CCTU and AICCI aims to internationalise the integration of the needs of society and industry in academia, addressing the evolving investment needs in Ghana and Africa.
Vice-Chancellor of CCTU, Prof. Kwaku Adutwum Ayim Boakye, sees this partnership as a significant step towards enhancing technical-vocational education quality and enriching students’ experience in line with the Technical University’s Act 922, while Brig. General Dr. Wallace Williams (Global Board Chairman-AICCI) who joined virtually expressed excitement about the collaborative possibilities.
Both parties envision a fruitful partnership that will advance educational excellence and cross-cultural understanding, opening up vast opportunities for meaningful impact in technical, and vocational education.
The delegation from AICCI included; Dr. Edward Agyekum Kufuor-Vice Chairman, Dr. Mark G. Darko-Global President, Theophilus Cromwell-Trade Commission, Courage K. Mensah-Corporate Communications/PR, Alejandro De La Para Solomon-Regional Director (Baltic and Nordic States) and Ms. Susanna Uusmaa (Country CEO-Estonia).
Also at the meeting were; Prof. Lawrence Atepor - Ag. Pro Vice-Chancellor, Dr. Anthony H. Turkson-Registrar, Prof. Rita E. Sanful - Dean, School of Applied Science and Technology, Dr. Ben Atom - Director, Directorate of International Relations and Institutional Linkages.
The MoU signing which was under the auspices of the Directorate of International Relations and Institutional Linkages of CCTU, ended beautifully with sight-seeing of the University Campus.
