INDIAN HIGH COMMISSIONER MEETS CCTU: STRENGTHENING TIES IN THE EDUCATION SECTOR

The Indian High Commissioner to Ghana, H.E. Manish Gupta, paid a courtesy call to Cape Coast Technical University (CCTU) at the University’s Council Chamber on Tuesday, March 11, 2025. The visit aimed to strengthen ties between India and Ghana, particularly in the educational sector.

The Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Kwaku Adutwum Ayim Boakye, welcomed H.E. Manish Gupta to CCTU and expressed appreciation for India's commitment towards education and development in Ghana.

He conveyed CCTU’s enthusiasm in partnering with the Indian High Commission to further enhance the University’s niche area of Renewable Energy. He said, “CCTU is a young, fast-growing Technical University with a focus on renewable energy but also ventures in making strides in other areas that can curb real life problems by providing reasonable solutions”.

Prof. K. A. A. Boakye acknowledged India’s achievements in ICT, entrepreneurship, and renewable energy and was looking forward to CCTU’s partnership with India to leverage India's expertise in these areas.

H.E. Manish Gupta emphasized the importance of the India-Ghana partnership and the need for technical academic institutions to collaborate. He indicated how CCTU and India could deepen collaboration within the framework of Institutional advancement.

Dr. Ben Atom, the Director of International Programmes and Institutional Linkages in his address, extended his gratitude for scholarships provided by the Indian government, emphasising the vital role these opportunities played in developing CCTU’s human capital.   He presented a petition to the High Commissioner, seeking to establish partnerships with multiple Indian Universities.

The visit was expected to pave the way for increased academic collaboration in areas such as exchange programmes and research partnerships. The meeting concluded with an exchange of tokens and a group photo, marking the beginning of a promising partnership.
