CCTU CHANCELLOR, GCMC AND HORACE EKOW EWUSI DONATES TO CCTU
The Chancellor of Cape Coast Technical University, Dr. James Condua Orleans - Lindsay in collaboration with Ghana Cylinder Manufacturing Company Ltd (GCMC) and Mr. Horace Ekow Ewusie, the New Patriotic Party (NPP) Parliamentary Candidate for the Cape Coast North Constituency, on Friday, November 22, 2024 donated Fifty (50) LED Street Light, Cooking Stoves and Accessories to the Cape Coast Technical University (CCTU).
Mr. Horace Ekow Ewusie, the NPP Parliamentary Candidate for Cape Coast North Constituency, expressed excitement about the collaboration to improve the lighting and security system of the University and the surrounding communities. Stressing that he would continue to support CCTU and the Cape Coast North Constituency. He advocated for massive turn out, in his favour, during the December 7, 2024 general elections, in order to better the lives of his constituents.
Mrs. Genevieve Sackey, the Managing Director of Ghana Cylinder Manufacturing Company Ltd (GCMC), speaking to the press during the presentation indicated that the donation stems from a conversation the newly installed Chancellor, Dr. James Condua Orleans – Lindsay and Horace Ekow Ewusie, NPP Parliamentary Candidate for Cape Coast North Constituency, had with her company to support the University.
Mrs. Sackey mentioned that the donation forms part of the company’s Corporate Social Responsibility. She expressed delight to be a part of the CCTU story assuring the University of a long term relationship going forward. He added that her company is prepared to receive students of CCTU for their internship programme.
The Ghana Cylinder Manufacturing Company Ltd (GCMC), was incorporated under the companies code 1963 (act 179) as a private limited liability company on the 14th of May 1998 to produce cylinders of all sizes, to store Liquified Petroleum Gas (LPG) and other gaseous product for both domestic and export markets. It is however, one hundred (100%) owned by the government of Ghana.
Dr. Anthony H. Turkson, the Registrar of the University, who received the donation was excited about the gesture and commended the Chancellor, Dr. James Condua Orleans – Lindsay, Mr. Horace Ekow Ewusie, Parliamentary Candidate and GCMC, for such assistance. He assured that the donated items would be put to good use to benefit the University and its surrounding communities.
