BTECH and HND in Statistics

1. B.TECH STATISTICS(TOP-UP)

ENTRY REQUIREMENTS

To be eligible for the Bachelor of Technology degree in Statistics, candidates must hold at least a good HND certificate in Statistics (Second Class Division or better) from a recognized institution with a one year relevant post qualification field experience.

2. HND STATISTICS

Entry Requirements for Admission of Students into HND Statistics

A.     SSSCE Graduates

Category I: Candidates with Elective Mathematics

i.   Passes in three Core Subjects (A to D): English, Mathematics and Integrated Science or Social Studies.

ii.  Credit pass (A to D) in Elective Mathematics and any other two subjects.

Category II: Candidates without Elective Mathematics

i.  Passes (A to D) in English, and Integrated Science, and a minimum of C in Core Mathematics

ii. Passes (A to D) in three subjects, two of which are numerates: Accounting, Cost  Accounting, Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Geography, Engineering Science, Applied Electricals and Electronics, etc.

B.WASSCE Graduate

Category I: Candidates with Elective Mathematics

                  i. Passes (A1 to D7) in three Core Subjects: English, Mathematics and Integrated 

Science or Social Studies.

ii. Credit Passes in Elective Mathematics and any other two subjects.

Category II: Candidates without Elective Mathematics

i   Passes (A1 to D7) in  English,  Integrated Science, and at least C6 in Core    

                       Mathematics

ii. Credit passes in three subjects, two of which are numerates: Accounting, Cost Accounting, Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Geography, Engineering Science, Applied Electricals and Electronics, etc.

 C.   Teacher Applicants

                  Four-year Certificate ‘A’                                                  OR

      Three-year Post-Secondary Teacher’s Certificate                        AND

      Five (5) GCE ‘O’ Level credits including English Language,

      Mathematics and two (2) science subjects.                                  OR

      Five (5) SSSCE/WASSCE passes including English Language,

                  Mathematics and two (2) elective science subjects:                     AND

      A minimum of three (3) years teaching experience.

D.  Mature Applicants

Must be at least 25 years old.

  1. Must have completed GCE ‘O’ Level and/or A’ Level.            or
  2. Must have completed Senior High School 
  3. Must have at least two (2) years relevant working experience.
  4. Should pass a written examination and an interview.  The examination shall be of two papers being English Language and Special paper (Mathematics and Introductory Statistics).
  5. Photocopies of birth certificate and evidence of Industrial experience should be attached.
