The Directorate of Human Resource on Thursday, January 26, 2023 organized a day workshop for Deans, Directors and Heads of Department at the University Library Conference Room.

The workshop was chaired by the Registrar, Dr. Francis N Akrono. Opening the workshop, the Chairperson underscored the importance of the workshop and indicated that as part of the measures to build capacity of participants to achieve the desired impact at various capacities, the training programme had been fashioned to afford all the participants especially newly appointed heads the opportunity to enrich themselves with the knowledge on leadership and how the University system runs. He entreated participants to accord facilitators the maximum cooperation for a successful programme.

Prof. Lawrence Atepor, Dean of the School of Engineering facilitated the presentation on the topic “Governance System of the University”. Prof. Samuel B. Owusu-Mintah, the second resource person presented “Duties and Responsibilities of Deans, Directors and Heads of Department in the University”. The Director of Legal, Consular and General Services, Mr. Michael M. Bentil made a presentation on “Extracts of the Statutes that Directly Affect the Work of Directors/Deans/HODs”. Deputy Finance Director, Mr. Frederick Appiah on behalf of the Director of Finance spoke on “Financial Administration in the Directorates/Schools/Departments’’.

The workshop was well attended and the participation of members was very impressive. The organizers were commended for creating the forum for heads to be imparted and equipped with the requisite skill needed for the execution of their duties and responsibilities.
