Cape Coast Technical University (CCTU) has taken a major step toward fostering strategic partnerships with the Komenda-Edina-Eguafo-Abrem Municipal Assembly (KEEMA) and the Central Regional Headquarters of the Ghana Police Service following meetings held on Tuesday, May 5, 2026. The engagement brought together management teams from the institutions to identify areas of shared interest and collaboration.

The CCTU delegation first visited KEEMA and was received by the Municipal Chief Executive, Honourable Ismail Saeed Zagoon, along with the Planning Officer, Mr. Johnson De-graft Taylor, and the Budget Analyst, Madam Fatima Yeboah.
The delegation, led by the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Kwaku Adutwum Ayim Boakye, included Mr. Kwabena Owusu, the Director of Finance and Dr. Richmond Yaw Yeboah, the Vice Dean for the Directorate of International Programmes and Institutional Linkages.

In his remarks, Prof. Boakye highlighted the University’s growth agenda, noting its target of increasing student enrolment to 30,000 by 2030. He underscored the importance of strengthening institutional ties with KEEMA to support this vision and encouraged open dialogue to create mutually beneficial opportunities.

Honourable Zagoon expressed appreciation for the visit and reaffirmed his commitment to enhancing collaboration. He emphasised that such partnerships played a crucial role in bridging the gap between academia and local governance while driving practical development.

He further outlined key areas for collaboration, including tourism, waste management, and skills development, and stressed the need to formalise the partnership through the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to ensure sustained cooperation.
The CCTU Team also visited the Central Regional Headquarters of the Ghana Police Service, where it was received by the Deputy Regional Commander, Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP) Ibrahim Sulley, and Chief Inspector Benjamin Doe Kuwornu.

Speaking during the visit, the Vice-Chancellor noted that the engagement formed part of the University’s broader vision to strengthen partnerships with key stakeholders, including the Ghana Police Service. He emphasised CCTU’s commitment to building strong institutional relationships, adding that a safe and secure environment was vital for attracting and retaining students.

ASP Ibrahim Sulley described the Central Region as one of the most peaceful regions in the country and expressed the Police Service’s willingness to collaborate with CCTU in various capacities. He also showed keen interest in the University’s short courses, particularly for young police officers eager to take advantage of such opportunities.

The institutional tour ended on a successful note, with all parties acknowledging the importance of collaboration in addressing local challenges and advancing national development. The occasion was marked with photographs to commemorate the engagements.
