The Cape Coast Technical University (CCTU) has taken a significant step in advancing its internationalisation agenda by signing a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Florida Gulf Coast University (FGCU) in the United States.

The agreement was formalised during a visit led by Professor Emmanuel Kwaw, the Acting Pro-Vice Chancellor of CCTU, who headed a four-member Management delegation. The Team included Dr. Anthony Hercules Turkson (Registrar), Professor Ben Ebo Attom (Dean, Directorate of International Programmes and Institutional Linkages), and Mr. Michael Magnus Bentil (Director of Human Resource).

As part of the visit, the delegation participated in a Management Capacity Building Workshop hosted by FGCU. The workshop, titled “Strategic Governance and Leadership in Higher Education: Managing Universities in the Age of Artificial Intelligence,” brought together representatives from CCTU and Kumasi Technical University (KsTU). Discussions focused on equipping university leaders with the skills to navigate the evolving landscape of higher education in an era of artificial intelligence.

The MoU signing marked the culmination of efforts to establish a strategic academic partnership between CCTU and FGCU. The collaboration is expected to foster capacity building, joint research initiatives, and other mutually beneficial engagements.

Professor Kwaw emphasised that the partnership aligned with CCTU’s internationalisation agenda, which sought to enhance the University’s global visibility and competitiveness. “This MoU represents a milestone in positioning CCTU as a forward-looking Institution, ready to embrace innovation and global collaboration,” he noted.

The agreement underscores CCTU’s commitment to building strong international linkages that would enrich academic programmes, strengthen institutional governance, and prepare students and faculty for the demands of a rapidly changing world.
