16th, June 2026

The Cape Coast Technical University (CCTU) on June 9, 2026 celebrated Mr. Abdullah Karim Rahman as its "Alumnus of the Week," honouring his trailblazing leadership in public service and youth development.

The announcement was made on the University’s radio station, Eagle FM 87.7 MHz. Speaking on air, the Acting Pro Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Emmanuel Kwaw, praised Mr. Rahman’s professional accomplishments, highlighting his deep dedication to advancing Ghana's political and public service sectors.

Mr. Rahman currently serves as the Acting Regional Director of the National Service Authority (NSA), making him the youngest Regional Director in the Authority's history across Ghana. In this role, he oversees the administration, deployment, and welfare of national service personnel. His tenure focuses heavily on driving institutional discipline, promoting accountability, and maximising local community development.

Mr. Rahman’s educational journey began at Assin Manso Senior High School before he transitioned to higher education at CCTU. He graduated with a Higher National Diploma (HND) in Statistics in 2017, followed by a Bachelor of Technology (B.Tech) in Statistics in 2020. Building on this foundation, he earned a Master of Science (MSc.) in Oil and Gas Resource Management from the University of Cape Coast in 2024.

Beyond his formal institutional role, Mr. Rahman is a prominent political figure, serving as the Deputy Youth Organiser for the National Democratic Congress (NDC) in the Cape Coast North Constituency. He actively uses this platform to mobilise young people and advocate for greater civic participation.

Driven by a passion for social change, he founded the Barysta Care Foundation. This non-profit organisation implements practical solutions for underprivileged communities through youth empowerment workshops, grassroots educational initiatives, healthcare advocacy and social support.

In addition to his public service and philanthropic efforts, Mr. Rahman is a dedicated commercial farmer. His strategic investments in agribusiness support sustainable development goals and create vital economic opportunities within the local community.

Prof. Kwaw concluded the profile by noting that Mr. Rahman’s multifaceted career and impact made him a standout representative of CCTU, embodying the University's mission to produce innovative and community-minded leaders.
