Entry Requirements
Certificate in Computer Engineering
Admission into the Certificate in Computer Engineering programme is open to applicants who satisfy any of the following requirements:
1. Applicants with the West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE)
Passes (A1– E8) in five (5) subjects including:
- English Language
- Core Mathematics
- Integrated Science
- Any two (2) other subjects
2. Applicants with the Senior Secondary School Certificate Examination (SSSCE)
Passes (A–E) in five (5) subjects including:
- English Language
- Core Mathematics
- Integrated Science
- Any two (2) other subjects
3. Applicants with the General Certificate of Education (GCE) Ordinary Level
Passes in five (5) subjects including:
- English Language
- Mathematics
- Science
- Any two (2) other subjects
4. Other Applicants (Mature and Technical/Vocational Applicants)
Applicants must be at least twenty (20) years of age and possess any of the following qualifications:
- Middle School Leaving Certificate (MSLC)
- National Vocational Training Institute (NVTI) Certificate
- Technician Part I or Technician Part II Certificate
- Basic Education Certificate (BEC) or Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE)
- City & Guilds Certificate
- Technical or Vocational Education and Training (TVET) Certificate
- Any other equivalent qualification recognized by the University.
- Applicants admitted under this category may be required to pass an interview and/or an aptitude test conducted by the Department.
General Requirement
Preference may be given to applicants with a background or demonstrated interest in science, technology, engineering, computing, electronics, or related technical fields. However, motivated applicants from other educational backgrounds who satisfy the admission requirements are also encouraged to apply.
