2026 Alumni of the Week: Mr. Thomas Hughes Amissah, unveiled in Episode 2

The Cape Coast Technical University (CCTU) on Tuesday, February 24, 2026, recognised one of its outstanding alumni for his outstanding achievements. Mr. Amissah Hughes Amissah was named the “CCTU Alumnus of the Week”.

The Director of Public Affairs, Mr. Alexander K. Azameti, presenting his profile on the University’s Radio Station, Eagle FM 87.7Mhz, praised Mr. Hughes Amissah's professional accomplishments, highlighting his dedication to advancing the banking and finance sector.
Mr. Alexander K. Azameti mentioned that Mr. Amissah holds an MBA (Finance), a BBA (Accounting) from the Ghana Institute of Management & Public Administration, and a Higher National Diploma in Accountancy from the Cape Coast Technical University. He had also completed advanced training in International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS), tax planning, Basel II & III, and Risk-Based Audits.
He added that, Mr. Amissah Hughes was a seasoned executive with over 18 years of leadership experience spanning banking, auditing, financial management, and the Fast-Moving Consumer Goods (FMCG) sector. “As a Chartered Accountant and a member of both the Institute of Chartered Accountants – Ghana (ICAG) and the Institute of Internal Auditors – Ghana (IIA), he is recognised for his proven track record in driving growth, optimising operational efficiency, and leading strategic transformations to deliver long-term success,” Mr. Azameti noted.
Mr. Amissah has held executive leadership positions across several prominent organisations, including Olam Agri Limited, National Investment Bank (NIB), Universal Merchant Bank (UMB), Bank of Ghana (BoG), and Ghacem Limited, where he spearheaded the development and implementation of internal auditing policies, establishing rigorous governance standards.
Mr. Amissah, in his acceptance remarks, expressed gratitude to his alma mater for the recognition. He urged listeners and students to remain focused and work hard to contribute to national development.
Through his dedication to industry and community service, Mr. Thomas Amissah continues to serve as an inspiring example for students, staff, and the broader national community.
