Nkabom Hold Talks on Strategic Partnership for Youth Development and Industry Linkages

The Cape Coast Technical University (CCTU) hosted officials of the Nkabom Mastercard–McGill Collaborative at the University’s Council Chamber on Tuesday, May 12, 2026, to explore potential areas of collaboration in training, research, and youth development.
The CCTU delegation, led by Prof. Eric Awere, the Dean of the School of Engineering, comprised Management and faculty representatives from the Schools of Engineering, Business and Management Studies, and Applied Sciences and Technology. The Nkabom delegation was headed by Mr. Pierre Brunache Jr., the Director, alongside Ms. Valerie Ndiweni, the Associate Director, Administration and Operations; Mr. Enoch Amankwa Konadu, the Monitoring, Evaluation and Learning (MEL) Consultant; and Mr. Daniel Okyere, the Association of Ghana Industries (AGI)–Nkabom Officer.

Delivering the welcome address, Prof. Awere emphasised CCTU’s commitment to practical and industry-oriented education. He expressed optimism about the prospective partnership, noting its potential to strengthen youth training and development while enhancing institutional collaboration. He further indicated the University’s readiness to support the initiative and pursue a formal partnership agreement.

Mr. Brunache Jr. expressed appreciation for the warm reception and outlined key areas of mutual interest for collaboration, including fisheries, citrus value chains, and youth empowerment initiatives within Ghana’s Central Region. Ms. Ndiweni also welcomed the engagement and stressed the importance of identifying institutional capacities to facilitate meaningful and effective collaboration.

During the discussions, Dr. Sandra Ama Kaburi of the Department of Food Science and Postharvest Technology highlighted possible areas of cooperation in food science and innovation. She emphasised opportunities in the conversion of agricultural waste into animal feed and organic manure, as well as initiatives within the central region’s pineapple value chain.

Prof. Eugene Owusu-Acheampong, the Dean of School of Business and Management Studies, highlighted the University’s strong commitment to entrepreneurship education, pointing to ongoing student-led innovations in sustainable product development.
The meeting concluded with an interactive session featuring student and alumni entrepreneurs, and both parties expressed a shared commitment to advancing the partnership. The Nkabom Team was presented CCTU memorabilia and group photographs were taken.
