CCTU Launches Operation 4K: A Drive towards Student Growth and Future Progress

The Cape Coast Technical University (CCTU) has officially launched “Operation 4K”, an initiative aimed at increasing student enrolment of the University. The event, held on Tuesday, April 28, 2026, at the Building Auditorium, CCTU, brought together staff, students, and external partners to support the initiative.

Speaking at the launch, the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Kwaku Adutwum Ayim Boakye, noted that the initiative was designed to reach out across the country and enrol at least four thousand (4,000) students. He emphasised the importance of increasing student enrolment, stressing that “Every institution is respected by the population of its students” adding that “the University is working towards a target of 30,000 students by 2030.” He urged all stakeholders to begin taking practical steps to achieve the stated objective.
Prof. Boakye commended staff for their dedication and revealed that plans were far advanced to secure additional assets to support future expansion.




A member of the Enrolment Drive Team and Lecturer at the Department of Mathematics and Statistics, Dr. Michael Manford, presented enrolment statistics for the 2025/2026 academic year, highlighting the demographic, gender, and media dynamics of the year’s enrolment. He also presented the strategies to be employed to make the ‘Operation 4K’ target attainable.

The initiative involved outreach programmes to senior high, technical and vocational schools, community engagement activities, and digital campaigns to educate students and parents on the University’s programmes and application procedures.

Other resource persons, including Dr. Richmond Yeboah, CCTU National Alumni President and Rev. Patrick Oduro Koomson, CCTU Admissions Agent at the Komenda Senior Technical School, shared practical strategies to boost admission efforts.
The ‘Operation 4K’campaign is expected to run through 2025/2026 academic year, with applications open to qualified candidates (national and international) for the 2026/2027 enrolment.
The event concluded with a call for collective effort, as Management pledged full support to ensure the success of ‘Operation 4K’. Group photographs were taken to bring the launch to a successful end.
