The Vice-Chancellor of Cape Coast Technical University (CCTU), Professor Kwaku Adutwum Ayim Boakye and member of the Anniversary Planning Committee, Dr. Mrs. Magdalene Bartrop Abakah, have shared updates on the University's upcoming climax of the 40th Anniversary Celebrations.

Professor Boakye noted that although the Anniversary celebrations were officially launched in February 2024, progress was initially slowed due to the dissolution of the Governing Council. With a new council now in place, preparations were back on track to mark this important milestone in November 2025.

Speaking on Eagle FM Morning Show hosted by Malik Ramzy, Dr. Mrs. Abakah outlined a series of events planned to climax the celebrations. She indicated that detailed programme would be announced on the University’s radio station, Eagle FM 87.7MHz.

To promote unity and the spirit of oneness, a new initiative has been introduced requiring staff and students to wear the University’ 40th Anniversary Cloth on the first and last Fridays of every month.

As part of efforts to promote the Anniversary, social media challenges have been launched for staff, students and alumni under the hashtag #CCTU@40.

Professor Boakye also highlighted the University’s fundraising drive, which was ongoing, with a major goal of constructing a 2,500-capacity hostel facility. He encouraged individuals and organisations to support this project by donating via the short code *772*4040#.

The Vice-Chancellor appealed to alumni, well-wishers and the wider community to contribute generously, stressing the significance of the project in improving students’ life and campus infrastructure.

Eagle FM will soon launch a dedicated “CCTU@40” programme, keeping the University Community and the public informed about the Anniversary activities.
