The Cape Coast Technical University (CCTU) hosted a high-level engagement on Monday, June 22, 2026, as the Regional Director of the National Health Insurance Authority (NHIA), Mr. Kojo Sekyere Koi Thompson, led a delegation on a courtesy call to the University’s Management. The visit, held at the University’s Council Chamber, reciprocated an earlier call by CCTU leadership to the NHIA Regional Office in Cape Coast and underscored both Institutions’ commitment to deepening collaboration.

Discussions focused on advancing universal healthcare accessibility, enhancing student and staff access to health insurance services, and exploring joint initiatives in community outreach and institutional partnerships.

Welcoming the delegation, Vice-Chancellor Prof. Kweku Adutwum Ayim Boakye expressed appreciation for the NHIA’s proactive engagement and highlighted the importance of sustainable partnerships between academia and public service.

Mr. Thompson commended CCTU’s forward-looking approach and reaffirmed the Authority’s readiness to support initiatives aligned with its mandate of equitable healthcare coverage. He also emphasised human resource development opportunities for NHIA staff.

The NHIA Team included Mr. Kwamena Ndzebah Ghansah (Regional Hunan Resource Manager), Mr. Jerry Ato Turkson (Regional Management and Information System Manager), and Mr. Augustine Owusu Frimpong (Regional Public Relations Officer). Representing CCTU were: the Registrar, Dr. Anthony H. Turkson; the Director of Finance, Mr. Kwabena Owusu; Acting University Librarian, Dr. Augustine Adoku Alu; Acting Medical Director, Dr. Deborah Incoom; Head of Documentation and Information/ Web Management and Marketing Section, Mrs. Hannelore Asmah; Public Relations Officer, Ms. Barbara Obeng-Dwamena, and Head of the Vice-Chancellor’s Secretariat, Mr. Paul Akyin-Mensah.

The meeting ended on a high note, with both parties reaffirming their commitment to open dialogue and future collaborations rooted in service, innovation, and community development. The occasion was further marked by the exchange of memorabilia and a group photograph session to capture the moment.
