CCTU Pays Courtesy Call on Cape Coast Mayor and NHIA: Institutional Tour – Day 1

On Tuesday, February 24, 2026, Cape Coast Technical University (CCTU) began an institutional tour to explore collaborative opportunities as part of its efforts to strengthen institutional relationships.


The first stop was at the office of the Mayor of Cape Coast, Hon. George Justice Arthur, at the Cape Coast Metropolitan Assembly.
Hon. George Justice Arthur warmly welcomed the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Kwaku Adutwum Ayim Boakye, and his delegation to the Cape Coast Metropolitan Assembly and expressed his delight at the visit.

He applauded the University for its contribution towards the socio-economic development of the Metropolis over the past forty (40) years. He assured Management of the Assembly’s continued support for the University.

The Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Kwaku Adutwum Ayim Boakye, in his address, explored collaborative opportunities, particularly in education and training certificate programmes for less privileged individuals and artisans in the metropolis, to equip them with hands-on training to build sustainable livelihoods for socio-economic development.


The next stop was at the Central Regional Office of the National Health Insurance Authority (NHIA), Cape Coast.

Mr. Kojo Sekyere Koi Thompson, Ag. Central Regional Director, NHIA, welcomed the CCTU delegation and set the tone for engagement focused on exploring collaborative opportunities between the University and the NHIA, particularly in promoting universal health insurance coverage in relation to persons resident in the University community, as well as the provision of healthcare services to persons covered by the Scheme.

Prof. Kwaku Adutwum Ayim Boakye emphasised the crucial role CCTU played in driving development and expressed the University’s commitment to fostering a closer partnership with NHIA to harness expertise and promote quality health delivery.




Both meetings ended with great optimism. The parties acknowledged the need for continuous dialogue and collaboration to address shared challenges and advance the national development agenda.
