CCTU ALUMNI SPOTLIGHT: DIRECTOR OF INTERNAL AUDIT, MR. PAUL ANDOH, CROWNED "ALUMNUS OF THE WEEK"

The Cape Coast Technical University (CCTU) has named its Director of Internal Audit, Mr. Paul Andoh, as the "Alumnus of the Week." The initiative recognises outstanding graduates of the University who excel in their professions and embody the University’s core values. The announcement was made on Tuesday, June 2, 2026, during a profile presentation on the University’s radio station, Eagle FM (87.7 MHz).

Presenting the profile, the Director of Public Affairs, Mr. Alexander K. Azameti, praised Mr. Andoh’s inspirational journey. He noted that Mr. Andoh began his journey at CCTU as a Higher National Diploma (Accountancy Studies) student in 2001, returned as a Teaching Assistant in 2005, and was officially employed by the University in 2008. He obtained his Master’s degree in Accounting from the University of Cape Coast

Through decades of dedication, Mr. Andoh rose through the ranks from Senior Auditing Assistant to Deputy Director and eventually, a Director.

Mr. Azameti added that during Mr. Andoh’s time at the Directorate, he had revolutionised CCTU’s financial and operational systems. Key achievements included:

  • Securing National Recognition: played a pivotal role in the University’s achievement of the 2023 Best Enterprise Risk Management Compliant Award in the Tertiary Category, conferred by the Internal Audit Agency.
  • Plugging Revenue Leakages: Oversaw the sanitisation of the University’s fees collection system, which ensured robust controls, eliminated financial leakages and safeguarded institutional revenue.
  • Attracting Resources: Assisted CCTU in negotiating a vital fuel credit system with GOIL and in securing the donation of a Toyota Coaster bus from UniBank.

Beyond his work at CCTU, Mr. Andoh is a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants, Ghana (ICAG) and a member of the Institute of Internal Auditors (IIA). Since 2012, he has represented the Internal Audit Agency (IAA) on multiple Audit Committees. He currently chairs the Audit Committees of the Effutu Municipal Assembly, the Ewim Polyclinic, the Cape Coast District Hospital, and the Metropolitan Health Directorate.
