Professor Boakye noted that the 2025/2026 admission figures represented a 120% increase over last year’s admissions. “The University received many applications for the 2025/2026 academic year, out of which 4,111 qualified applicants were admitted into various programmes. Prof. Boakye urged the students to be disciplined and diligent as they embarked on their academic pursuits. He encouraged them to appreciate Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) as a vital tool for shaping the future. " We urge you to have a renewal of mind; change starts from the mind. The era where vocational and technical education was looked down upon as the preserve of unintelligent or academically poor persons is long gone’’, he emphasised.

Also, students were advised to make good use of the directorates, sections, and units within the University, such as the Gender and Differently-abled Office and the Guidance and Counselling Unit, to enhance their learning, creativity, and professional development.

The students took the oath of matriculation, administered by the Registrar, Dr. Anthony H.
