Innovation, Collaboration, and Impact — CCTU at ARCTUG 2026

Cape Coast Technical University (CCTU) participated in the 4th Applied Research Conference of Technical Universities of Ghana (ARCTUG 2026), hosted by Takoradi Technical University from May 25, 2026, to May 29, 2026.

       

The Conference, themed “Advancing TVET for Innovation, Technology Transfer, and Entrepreneurship for Sustainable Development”, convened all ten (10) Technical Universities in Ghana, along with policymakers, industry leaders, and researchers, to strengthen applied research and promote technology transfer.

CCTU showcased its commitment to innovation through faculty and student presentations in areas including tourism and hospitality, food science and postharvest technology, computer science and technology, community development, renewable energy, entrepreneurship, and sustainable construction. The University also exhibited prototypes in food and postharvest innovations, food and sanitary products, green energy and transport systems, and smart tools for construction and agriculture. Additionally, CCTU engaged in strategic collaborations with sister institutions to advance technology transfer and entrepreneurship initiatives.

The Special Guest of Honour, H.E. John Dramani Mahama, President of the Republic of Ghana, together with Hon. Haruna Iddrisu, Minister for Education, underscored the crucial role of Technical Universities in driving Ghana’s sustainable development agenda.

    

Beyond academic sessions, the conference featured side activities including a sea trip at the Takoradi Naval Base, an exhibition contest among the Technical Universities, certificate and award presentations, and a dinner night. With over 300 research papers and exhibitions showcased, the event empowered students and faculty to deliver practical solutions to pressing societal challenges.

             

The gathering also marked the 10th anniversary of Ghana’s transition from polytechnics to technical universities—a milestone celebrated during the conference.

CCTU’s participation highlights its growing influence in applied research and innovation, positioning it as a key contributor to Ghana’s Technical Education landscape.
