CCTU Says Farewell to Dr. Mukuna Patrick Mubiayi Following a One-Month Insightful and Engaging Working Visit

Cape Coast Technical University (CCTU) held an exit conference on Monday, 30th March 2026, in honour of Dr Mukuna Patrick Mubiayi, a Senior Lecturer at the Institute of Nanotechnology and Water Sustainability (iNanoWS), University of South Africa, following his highly engaging and productive one-month working visit to the University.

Dr Mubiayi, who is also a National Research Foundation (NRF) C3-rated researcher and a member of the South African Institution of Mechanical Engineering and the International Association of Engineers, visited CCTU to facilitate academic seminars, conduct collaborative research, and strengthen institutional partnerships.

The event brought together members of the University Management and staff to acknowledge his valuable contributions and to further consolidate the growing collaboration between CCTU and UNISA. In his remarks, Prof. Ben Ebo Attom, Dean of the Directorate of International Programmes and Institutional Linkages, noted that this marked Dr. Mubiayi’s second research visit to CCTU. He emphasised the importance of the ongoing collaboration with the Engineering Design and Innovation Centre (EDIC), under the leadership of Dr. Kwame Anane-Fenin, and the School of Engineering.

Delivering his address, the Pro-Vice Chancellor, Prof. Emmanuel Kwaw, highlighted the progress being made towards formalising a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between CCTU and UNISA. He further indicated that the partnership presents significant opportunities, including potential scholarship avenues for CCTU students.

In his response, Dr. Mubiayi expressed his profound appreciation to the Management and staff of CCTU for the warm reception and collaborative spirit extended to him during his stay. Reflecting on his experience, he remarked, “I am particularly impressed by the efficiency and responsiveness with which academic and administrative processes are handled at CCTU.” He reaffirmed the commitment of UNISA Management to sustaining and deepening the collaboration between the two institutions.
