The Cape Coast Technical University (CCTU) has celebrated the outstanding achievements of its staff and students who distinguished themselves at the 4th Biennial Applied Research Conference of Technical Universities of Ghana (ARCTUG 2026), bringing honour and recognition to the Institution through excellence in research, innovation, and entrepreneurship.

In recognition of the University's remarkable achievements, the trophies, certificates, and commendations won at the national conference were formally presented to the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Kwaku Adutwum Ayim Boakye, during a brief ceremony held at the University's Council Chamber.

CCTU emerged as one of ARCTUG 2026's top-performing institutions, recording significant successes in the Research Presentation Category, the Student Innovation Challenge, and the Innovation and Best Prototype/Exhibition Challenge.

The University's innovative expertise was showcased through two groundbreaking projects—the Solartrike, developed by the Engineering Design and Innovation Centre (EDIC), and the BioCare Sanitary Pad, developed by the Department of Food Science and Postharvest Technology. These innovations earned CCTU the coveted title of Second-Best Technical University among the ten (10) participating Technical Universities, securing a trophy for outstanding innovation performance.

The University also received a Certificate of Innovation Participation in recognition of its active contribution to the Innovation Challenge, further cementing its reputation as a hub for practical, industry-driven solutions.

Speaking during the presentation, the Vice-Chancellor congratulated the award winners and praised the dedication, creativity, and hard work of the staff and students who represented the University.

He noted that the achievements reflected the University's commitment to fostering a culture of research excellence, innovation, and problem-solving, while reaffirming Management's continuous support for initiatives that enhanced academic and technological advancement.

The ARCTUG 2026 success story underscores Cape Coast Technical University's strategic focus on producing impactful research and innovative solutions that address societal challenges and contribute meaningfully to national development.
