CCTU Management Oversees Smooth Transition of Leadership

CCTU Management Oversees Smooth Transition of Leadership

Cape Coast Technical University (CCTU) has organised a handing-over ceremony to officially transfer the mantle of leadership from the outgoing office holders, including Deans, Directors and Heads of Departments, to newly appointed officers.

During the ceremony, which took place on Thursday, July 31, 2025, at the J. K. Borsah Library Conference Room, CCTU, Dr. Anthony H. Turkson, the Registrar of CCTU, shared the purpose of the meeting. He stated that, it was deemed expedient that such an event be held, to publicly and officially transition into a new era of administration.

Prof. Kwaku Adutwum Ayim Boakye, the Vice-Chancellor of the University, chaired the ceremony. In his address, he reflected on the achievements of the outgoing team of leaders, highlighting key projects and initiatives that had profound impact on the University. Some notable accomplishments included, the first-ever career fair overseen by the Dean of Students’ Affairs, Prof. Sophia Padi Ocran; the enhancement of international collaboration through Erasmus Mundus Seminar, which was overseen by Dr. Ben Attom, the Director of International Programmes and Institutional Linkages; and many more.

The Vice-Chancellor continued to profess that the programme also served as a platform to inform faculty and the University that the positions were not to be taken lightly but rather were to be held and handled with all due diligence and accountability. He quoted “the University is as strong as the competence and excellence of its decentralised units. We must begin to see positions as opportunities to serve instead of a birthright to be claimed”. He further stated that with the acceptance of the appointment letters, newly appointed officers had signed performance contracts with Management based on negotiated outcomes. The Vice-Chancellor added that appointees who had nothing to show for their leadership would not be considered for future appointments. He concluded by demanding results, results, results and congratulated the outgoing and incoming officials.

Dr. Turkson facilitated the handing-over of mantle from the outgoing office holders to the new ones. The names and positions of  the newly appointed officers were as listed below.
