 CCTU GOVERNING COUNCIL INAUGURATED

The Cape Coast Technical University (CCTU) Governing Council was inaugurated by the Minister for Education, Hon. Haruna Iddrisu, on Thursday, August 14, 2025, at the Ghana Tertiary Education Commission (GTEC) Conference Room, Accra.

Hon. Haruna Iddrisu administered the Oaths of Office and Secrecy to members of Council and charged them to provide the University with strategic leadership, guidance, and direction. He emphasised the importance of the Council's role in developing and delivering on the University's mandate.

The new Council, chaired by Prof. Isaac Kwame Dontwi, comprises the following:

In his address, Prof. Isaac Kwame Dontwi was grateful to the government for the trust reposed in them and promised the Council’s commitment to discharge the tasks bestowed upon it, especially focusing on the mandate of the Technical University, to bring about transformation in the lives of the students and the country as a whole.

The event had in attendance the Chief Director of the Ministry of Education (MoE), Mrs. Mamle Andrews; the Senior Advisor to the President, Hon. Seth Tekper; the Director-General of GTEC, Dr. Ahmed Jinapor; and the Director-Tertiary, MoE, Dr. Emmanuel Newman.

The inauguration of the new Council positions CCTU to continue its mandate of training high-calibre, skilled, and innovative human resource for the development of the nation.
