Strengthening Partnerships for Youth Development: CCTU Hosts Acting Central Regional Director of National Service Authority

The Management of Cape Coast Technical University (CCTU), on Thursday, May 7, 2026, welcomed the Acting Central Regional Director of the National Service Authority (NSA) and an Alumnus of the University, Mr. Karim Abdulah Rahman, during a courtesy visit aimed at strengthening ties between the two Institutions.

Speaking on behalf of the University, Mr. Michael Magnus Bentil, the Director of Human Resource, expressed gratitude to the Authority for its continued support in creating opportunities for CCTU graduates. He emphasised that the partnership between CCTU and the NSA played a vital role in preparing students for employment and contributing to national development.

In his welcome remarks, Prof. Kwaku Adutwum Ayim Boakye, the Vice-Chancellor, warmly received the delegation and emphasised the University’s commitment to enhancing collaboration with the Authority. He noted that Management’s strategic goal was to increase student enrolment to 30,000 by the year 2030, adding that the contributions of committed national service personnel would greatly support the University’s expansion agenda.

Prof. Boakye also congratulated Mr. Rahman and encouraged him to continue pursuing excellence while representing both the University and Ghana. He further stressed the need for proper orientation for national service personnel to instil professionalism and strong work ethics.

Responding to the remarks, Mr. Rahman thanked the University for the warm reception and commended CCTU for its significant role in advancing Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) in Ghana. He assured Management of his readiness to prioritise postings to CCTU and address related concerns promptly. He also reiterated the Authority’s commitment to ensuring smooth placement processes and improving the welfare of service personnel across the Region.

The meeting, held at the University’s Council Chamber, provided a platform for discussions on national service postings, possible accommodation support for personnel on campus, and strategies for equipping graduates with employability skills ahead of their national service.

The engagement ended with both institutions reaffirming their commitment to working together to promote youth empowerment and national development.
