VICE-CHANCELLOR RECEIVES DELEGATION FROM PRITTWITZ CONSULTING GBR WIETZENDORF, GERMANY

A delegation from Wietzendorf, Germany led by Ing. Bernhard von Prottwitz paid a courtesy call on the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. J. D. Owusu-Sekyere on Thursday, October 22, 2020. The call was in respect to a Memorandum of Understanding signed between Prittwitz Consulting GBR Wietzendorf, Germany and Cape Coast Technical University with Takoradi and Koforidua Technical Universities as the other partners.

Prittwitz Consulting is the union of several former employees of a Munich Service Company that has built-up technical training schools and facilities on the African continent for decades (even in Ghana). Prittwitz Consulting is specialized in the fields of Electrical Systems, Automotive inclusive Mechatronics and Renewable Energy. Heating, Ventilation and Air Conditioning (HVAC) is also part of Electrical Automation

The spokesperson of the delegation, Ing. Bernhard von Prottwitz indicated that the Memorandum of Understanding sets forth the terms and understanding between the parties to build the capacities and promoting existing capacities to supply the undersupplied Ghanaian market in the field of renewable energies and automotive technologies with qualified with personnel.

The Vice-Chancellor on the other hand expressed his appreciation for the collaboration and indicated that Renewable Energy is the niche area of the University and it is building the capacity in that regard. Cape coast Technical University is ever ready to embrace anything in line with renewable energy. 

Present at the meeting were Prof. Samuel K. Ansah - Pro Vice-Chancellor, Dr. Francis Narh Akrono - Registrar, Mr. Kwabena Owusu - Director of Finance, Prof. Lawrence Atepor - Director for the Renewable Energy Center, Prof. David Essumang - Vice-Chancellor – Koforidua Technical University and Prof. Ekua Nkrumah who represented the Vice-Chancellor for Takoradi Technical University. Mr. Volker Putz, Mr. Marc Bischof and Mr. Quartey were also part of the Prittwitz Consulting delegation.
