The Cape Coast Technical University on Friday, October 23, 2020 engaged the International Leadership Foundation in a leadership and governance seminar for its Executives. The seminar which took place at the University's Library Conference Hall saw in attendance the Vice-Chancellor, the Registrar, Deans of various Faculties and Heads of Department.

Speaking at the seminar, the Director for International Leadership Foundation (ILF), Mr. Emmanuel Obeku outlined many leadership skills and styles that a nation would need to enhance its development. He added that most African countries are where they are due to lack of strategic thinking.

He said "the inability of most people to find time to strategically think about how they could rapidly change themselves, circumstances and the people they lead to achieve the purposed vision and mission of any organization is the very reason most people in Africa are poor".

He indicated that values are very important in nation building and must be embraced by all for development." Most African countries are not well to do because they do not have resources but because we have not embraced transformational ideas and values", he said.

In an interview, Mr. Emmanuel Beku expressed his satisfaction with the organisation of the seminar and explained that, the purpose for the leadership seminar in CCTU was to empower the Executive body of the University to develop greater capacity of leadership skills and to continue to practise transforming leadership that will impact the students.

On behalf of the University, the Vice-Chancellor expressed his appreciation to the International Leadership Foundation for the presentation and hoped that the University has learnt so much from it and will go a long way to reflect in and on our way of thinking and leading the way for development.
