INTRODUCTION

The Department of Liberal and General Studies services all the Schools in the CCTU.  It offers courses in Communication Skills, African Studies, Entrepreneurship, Research Methodology and the Access Course into the HND Programmes.

VISION

The vision of the department is to assist the University to train competent and enthusiastic graduates to contribute to job and wealth creation of the nation and also fit into any sector of the economy.

OBJECTIVES

The objective of the Department is to help students acquire:

  • Proficiency in the use of English and French languages
  • Technical skills in writing and reporting in order to communicate ideas effectively
  • Entrepreneurial skills to enhance job creation and self-employment
  • Assist access students acquire the requisite qualification in English language, Mathematics and Science to gain admission into HND programmes
  • Pedagogical skills for teaching profession to enhance their job acquisition.
