CCTU STUDENTS REPRESENTED GHANA IN LATHE AFRICA TECH CHALLENGE PROGRAMME

Two students from the Department of Mechanical Engineering, Cape Coast Technical University together with some students in other Technical Universities represented Ghana in this year’s Season Five Lathe Africa Tech Challenge programme hosted at Nairobi, Kenya.  The programme which aimed at impacting technological skills to the participants to meet the global market as a result of change , was organized by the Ministry of Education in Kenya and Avic International Holding Corporation an aviation center in China. The theme for this year was, “The Impact of Technical and Vocational Education Training in Developing the Country Ghana’’.

The progamme, which featured Eighteen (18) Universities from both Kenya and some African countries such as Ghana, Ethiopia, Cote d’ voire, Tanzania, Uganda, Zambia and Gabon, lasted for a month. During the competition, students were trained on Computer Numerical Control Machine Programming and tasked with some presentations on the above mentioned topic. After numerous training and presentations, Ghanaian students comprising CCTU students received the most engaging team award for the year in addition took the 2nd position after the climax of the event.

Cape Coast Technical University Mechanical Engineering Students demonstrated their technological and entrepreneur skills acquired from the University as a result won the awards.
