A Competency-based teaching (CBT) workshop, under the auspices of the ongoing PASS project, was held from Monday, 27th May to Friday, 31st May, 2019 at the Cape Coast Technical University (CCTU) Library Conference Room.

The new Vice Chancellor of CCTU, Rev. Professor Joshua Danso Owusu-Sekyere, opened the workshop.

The facilitator was Dr. Stephen Turkson (COTVET accredited CBT Expert and TVET Consultant) and it was monitored by Professor Daniel Agyapong (PASS CBT Monitoring Expert).

The workshop which was coordinated by Ben Ebo Attom (The Director of International Affairs & PASS Leader) and Dr. Rita Elsie Sanful (TVET Director), had the main objective of converting the existing taught programmes mainly in the School of Engineering and Applied Sciences into CBT Modules.

The workshop was attended by twenty-five (25) participants from the following departments:

    • Mechanical;               
    • Electrical/Electronic;
    • Building Technology;
    • Civil Engineering;                                                            
    • Tourism;
    • Hotel, Catering and Institutional Management (HCIM);                                 
    • Fashion &Textiles Technology; and
    • Secretaryship & Management studies.
